bolt shear are checked, and the prying force and required thickness are determined.

4 "SECTPROP" --- SECTION PROPERTIES ANALYSIS PROGRAM
Program Description:
"SECTPROP" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of calculating section properties.
Two methods of input data are provided, either by adding of deleting "shapes" or by defining a polygon by a
series of "points". Specifically, the centroid location and total area are determined, as well as the centroidal and
principal axes moments of inertia, radii of gyration, and rotation angle.

5 "STEPCOL" --- STEPPED COLUMN ANALYSIS
Program Description:
"STEPCOL" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analyzing stepped columns
typically used in mill-type buildings to determine the effective lengths and effective length K factors.

6 "THERMAL" --- THERMAL EFFECTS FOR STEEL BUILDING OR STRUCTURE
Program Description:
"THERMAL" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of considering the thermal effects for a
steel building or structure. Specifically, the appropriate maximum design temperature change, the change of
length or stress as applicable, and the maximum building or structure length either without or between expansion
joints is determined. There is also a "General Thermal Effects Calculator" which can be used to selectively
determine any of the analysis parameters, as well as a temperature converter which can be used to convert from
oC (Celsius) to oF (Fahrenheit).

7 "TORSION9" --- SIMPLIFIED TORSION ANALYSIS FOR STEEL BEAMS
Program Description:
"TORSION9" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of simplified analysis and code
checking of steel beams subjected to torsional loading. Specifically, six (6) different beam and loading
configurations can be analyzed / code checked per the AISC 9th Edition Allowable Stress Design (ASD) Manual.
Both actual and allowable stresses are computed, with the final result being a computed "stress ratio" of actual
stress/allowable stress. Finally, the total angle of twist resulting from the torsional loading is determined.

8 "UGTANK" --- UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK ANCHORAGE DESIGN
Program Description:
"UGTANK" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of determining the anchorage
requirement to hold down an underground storage tank. Specifically the requirements for anchor straps,
anchor rods, and turnbuckles, as well as the reinforced concrete spread foundation are determined. Tables
for rod and turnbuckle load capacities as well as strap load capacities are displayed to the right off of the main
calculation pages.

9 "USGS96SA" --- USGS 1996 SPECTRAL ACCELERATION VALUES
Program Description:
"USGS96SA" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of determining the mapped
spectral acceleration values Ss and S1 to be used for seismic analysis and design in either the IBC 2000
or IBC 2003 Codes. Results may be obtained by input of location Zip Code or input of precise known
location latitude and longitude angles and are based on the 1996 USGS gridded data.

10 "WELDGRP" --- WELD GROUP ANALYSIS PROGRAM
Program Description:
"WELDGRP" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analysis of weld groups using
either the ultimate strength method (also known as "instantaneous center of rotation" method) or the "elastic"
(vector) method ("Alternate Method 1" in AISC Manual). A separate worksheet contains data tables for welds.

11 "XBRACING" --- ANALYSIS OF BENTS WITH TENSION-ONLY X-BRACING
Program Description:
"XBRACING" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analyzing X-braced bents with
tension-only systems. From 1-story up to 10-story bents may be analyzed. Specifically, given the bent width,
the story heights, and the lateral story loads, all the member (segment) forces are determined, as well as the
horizontal and vertical reactions at the supports, and the individual story drifts (horizontal deflections).

12 "ASCE702W" --- ASCE 7-02 CODE WIND ANALYSIS PROGRAM
Program Description:
"ASCE702W" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of wind loading analysis for buildings
and structures per the ASCE 7-02 Code. Specifically, wind pressure coefficients and related and required
parameters are selected or calculated in order to compute the net design wind pressures.

are selected or calculated in order to compute the net design snow loads, including snow drift due on lower roofs

"BASEPLT9" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analysis of steel column base
plates. Specifically, wide flange column base plates may be subjected to axial loads (compression or tension),
with or without major-axis column bending, plus major-axis shear. Base plate bearing pressure is checked as
well as bolt tension, if applicable. If shear is present, bolt shear as well as interaction of bolt tension and shear,
if applicable, are calculated. Finally, the required base plate thickness is calculated. There is a separate
worksheet for base plate shear lug design, when shear load is high and cannot be effectively handled by bolts.

17 "BEAMANAL" --- SINGLE-SPAN and CONTINUOUS-SPAN BEAM ANALYSIS
Program Description:
"BEAMANAL" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analysis of either single-span or
continuous-span beams subjected to virtually any type of loading configuration. Four (4) types of single-span beams
and two (2) through (5) span, continuous-span beams, considered. Specifically, beam end reactions as well as the
maximum moments and deflections are calculated. Plots of all of the diagrams are produced, as well as a
tabulation of the shear, moment, slope, and deflection for the beam or each individual span. Also, for structural
steel single-span beams an AISC 9th Edition (ASD) Code check can be performed for X-axis bending and shear.

"BMREACT" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of determining the allowable beam
end reaction and the allowable end moment for the purpose of end connection design.

21 "BOEF" --- BEAM ON ELASTIC FOUNDATION ANALYSIS
Program Description:
"BOEF" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analysis a finite length beam with free ends
supported continuously on an elastic foundation. This program is ideally suited for analyzing a soil supported beam,
a combined footing, or a strip of a slab or a mat. Specifically, the beam shear, moment, deflection, and soil bearing
pressure are calculated for 100 equal beam segments, as well as the maximum values. Plots of both the shear,
moment, and soil bearing pressure diagrams are produced, as well as a tabulation of the shear, moment,
deflection, and bearing pressure for the beam.

22 "BOLTGRP" --- BOLT GROUP and BOLT STRESS ANALYSIS PROGRAM
Program Description:
"BOLTGRP" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analysis of bolt groups using
either the ultimate strength method (also known as "instantaneous center of rotation" method) or the "elastic"
(vector) method ("Alternate Method 1" in AISC Manual). There is also a worksheet for bolt stress analysis, and a
separate worksheet that contains data tables for bolts.

23 "BRGPLT9" --- BEAM BEARING PLATE DESIGN
Program Description:
"BRGPLT9" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of the analysis and design of beam
bearing plates. This program is applicable to beams supported on concrete walls, pilasters, and piers in an
attempt to distribute the beam reaction over an area sufficient to keep the average bearing pressure within
acceptable limits. Specifically the program will check both the beam web shear and beam end bearing
capacity, determine the required bearing plate thickness, and determine the minimum beam flange
thickness required without a bearing plate.

24 "CLIPCONN" --- BEAM END CONNECTION USING CLIP ANGLES
Program Description:
"CLIPCONN" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analysis of steel beam end
connections using double clip angles either welded or bolted to the beam web, and bolted to either the column
flange, column web, or girder web. The connections may be subjected to end shear reaction and/or axial load.
Specifically, all applicable "limit states" for the end connection analysis pertaining to the clip angles, bolts, beam
web, column flange or web, and girder web are checked.

25 "ClipConnTable" --- BEAM END CONNECTIONS USING CLIP ANGLES
Program Description:
"ClipConnTable" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analysis of steel beam end

Program Description:
"CONVCALC" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of facilitating the adding and
subtracting of numbers (dimensions) represented in English "ft.-in. & fraction" format, as well as converting
those numbers to Metric (millimeter) equivalents. Also included are some miscellaneous English/Metric
conversions pertaining specifically to mass, force, and unit length or area.

27 "DECKSLAB" --- SLAB ON METAL DECK ANALYSIS / DESIGN
Program Description:
"DECKSLAB" is a spreadsheet program written in MS-Excel for the purpose of analysis and design of slabs on
metal deck. Both composite deck slabs and form deck slabs can be analyzed and designed for 3 different
loading conditions. Specifically, the flexural moment capacity for both positive and negative strong axis
moments, one-way beam shear, punching shear, and deflection are all evaluated and checked. Also, for
concentrated loads, the effective slab strip widths for both moment and beam shear are determined. There is
